Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican American journalist. She is currently employed by ESPN as a anchor for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. Her first assignment with ESPN in the year 2016. The child of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been for a long time, starting at when she was nine years old. Her ability in this area has helped her get her first job at Univision, Miami. She worked as a producer for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. In St. Petersburg, she was then recruited as a reporter by the CBS station as a sports journalist. In 2009 she relocated to Texas to Rio Grande Valley where she was a news reporter on KNVO TV 48 Univision. Reporting on stories on drugs and immigration issues across the border of Mexico and Texas. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on November 22nd 1985. She has an elder sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico for the US and settled in Miami. In 1992, her parents separated and shortly afterward in 1995 she remarried Fabio Fajardo who was a naval engineer who passed away in the year 2006 due to kidney cancer. The time of summer when she was with her sibling at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured a job. Antonietta was about to graduate from high school but already knew the things she wanted to do. As it turned out she loved the school and they were offering the major she was looking for. She graduated from high school and enrolled into media school at the University. She developed a long-lasting relationship with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the manager of WRMU 91.1 FM, of which she was a part. The professor encouraged her to be confident and was deeply touched by his passion for journalism.
